Thanksgiving 2011

As usual, we traveled to Monroe, LA for Thanksgiving. Mike had to work in Shreveport earlier in the week, so we drove down with him on Sunday (11/20/11) and stayed in the hotel with him. We had fun exploring the Boardwalk in Shreveport and eating yummy food. There was a carousel right in front of our hotel!

On Tuesday we drove over to Monroe to start our Thanksgiving holiday. On Wednesday I took the girls to see Arthur Christmas 3D at the mall. We ate Cane's chicken fingers and did some Christmas shopping (for myself!).

This is the entire group we had for Thanksgiving. On the left we have the Susie Brown family from Oklahoma. Then we have Grandpa Johnny McDaniel (father to Susie, Karen, and Emmett). Kelly and Emmett McDaniel are in the middle with Drover. We're on the left with the McDaniel boys.

We got to visit with Papa Harry and Grandma Corrie on Friday when they stopped by to visit!

A New Addition

Here is the first picture of our baby that will be joining our family in May 2012!

We waited until I was 13 weeks (11/12/11) along to tell our girls that we were going to have another baby! We took the girls to the temple to tell them. Unfortunately, it was cold and windy, but it was still a fun experience. We showed the girls the ultrasound picture and had them guess what it was. Sydney thought it was a kidney stone and Kathryn knew it was a baby, but she thought it was one of them. When they finally realized that they were going to have a new baby brother/sister, they were super happy and excited. Kathryn got tears in her eyes and Sydney bounced around. Reagan is oblivious, but she did strike her favorite pose.



On this same morning, we bought Mike a car (2006 Acura TSX) and a treadmill! We had a busy day!

What else keeps us busy?

The girls performed in the Primary Program and did a wonderful job. Sydney read a scripture, and Kathryn was a narrator.

Halloween!!!

Getting ready to Trick Or Treat in our neighborhood! We were out for about an hour and then the girls were ready to come home, but we got a lot of candy in that short time!

Pumpkin Carving

We carved our pumpkins really early because Mike was scheduled to be in China for the week before Halloween. We did it while Reagan was asleep, so that's why you don't see her!

The big girls really love to paint so Reagan wanted to try it out! She enjoyed it and sat there longer than I expected her too!

Pumpkins Galore

On Saturday (10/15) we went to Pumpkins Galore. We have enjoyed visiting this farm for the past couple of years for Halloween.

It was pretty chilly and windy out there!

I was not sure that Reagan would enjoy the corn and wheat tubs, but she really loved it!

She enjoyed sliding down the little slide the most!

Kathryn's Birthday Party

Kathryn requested a sleepover for her birthday, but she also wanted to invite a few boys, so they just joined us for games and cake. We played a few games including a washer toss and a balloon pop.

Sydney didn't see the screen and almost ran all the way through it! Oops! She was so sad and immediately started crying and saying, "I'm so sorry!" She hit her face pretty hard on the screen but was more concerned that we would be upset!

Kathryn requested her cake with specific written instructions and a drawing. She wanted a chocolate cake with chocolate icing and the number 7 made out of scoops of chocolate ice cream with a #7 candle in the middle. The scoops of ice cream ended up not freezing hard enough to place on top of the cake, so we compromised.

I had fun running back and forth between the girls classrooms trying to be there for both!
