Skiing!

We went skiing the Monday after Christmas at Loveland, CO. It was a stressfull morning getting up to the mountain because of slow traffic. But, we made it and ended up having a good day. The weather was really nice and the snow was good. The girls took lessons and Mike and I skiied together.

The girls getting their first sight of a ski hill and enjoying all of the snow!
Sydney with her instructor. Sydney really like to go down the hill, but she needs to work on stopping and turning.
Kathryn was slow and steady and did well stopping. I love how she is exactly mimicking the instructor with her legs bent and her arms out for balance.
We survived! We were all super cold by the end of the day, but Sydney was the only one actually crying. The girls slept for 2 hours in the car! We had to drive straight from the mountain to the airport to send Mike home.

Build-A-Bear

This was the girls first time to ever go to Build-A-Bear! Even though we live in the city where they were created, we had just never taken the girls! Nonnie was sweet enough to treat the girls to their very own animal. Sydney chose a bunny with long soft ears, and Kathryn chose a puppy.

Cousin Picture

These are our best attempts at getting a group cousin picture. It's hard to get 12 eyeballs, 6 heads, and 12 lips doing the right thing and pointing in the right direction!

This is what happens when you watch too much Toddlers and Tiaras! If you haven't seen the show on TLC, it's about little kids being in beauty pageants and the hilarity (or child-abuse, if you choose to see it that way) ensues. Kathryn just now looked at the picture and said, "I look GOOD in that picture!"

Chillaxin on Christmas

Nonnie and Reagan enjoying pigs-in-a-blanket for breakfast. We're so glad Nonnie was healthy for Christmas, because the next day she got sick and didn't feel good for a week!
Mike and I playing Boggle on his iphone. So. Much. Fun! For real.

Christmas Presents!

Thankfully Santa was able to find us in Colorado. He brought Sydney a glow board, which, by the way, is very fun to play with.
He brought Kathryn a school set that she asked for. It has already brought her hours of fun teaching and learning time.
Nonnie gave them Pillow Pets!
And Papa Harry and Grandma Corrie bought they super cute boots!

From Loose to Lost in 4 days!

The day of Kathryn's Winter Party, her tooth started to get loose!
And she pulled it out herself on Christmas morning! Ewww! She was excited about it because it was giving her trouble when she was trying to chew her food! She was also excited about leaving it under her pillow. Her Aunt Dee Dee gave her a little blue box to put her tooth in. Kathryn wrote a note asking if she could keep her tooth and have a treat. The Tooth Fairy obliged and she kept her tooth and got $2!

I forgot to bring the girls stockings, so Santa left their goodies in Sydney's boots!

Christmas Dance Recital

On Tuesday, December 21st, the girls had their Christmas dance recital. Mike recorded the dance on his phone, so I'll have to see if I can figure out how to post it on here.

I put glitter in the girl's hair and they were the envy of their classmates! Aren't they beautiful?
They both danced very well and in their own style. Kathryn is very technical, doing the moves exactly the way she was taught, and Sydney is a free spirit, doing her moves very enthusiastically and with feeling!

Reagan's 1 year check up

Grumpily weighing in at 22 pounds, 2.5 ounces!
Sydney took our picture while we were waiting for the doctor.
She didn't like the doctor touching her, but he did find that she had an ear infection, so I'm glad she got checked out!

Santa's Magical Kingdom

On Saturday, December 18th, we took the girls to Santa's Magical Kingdom. This was our first time and we wanted to check it out. We really enjoyed it. There were a ton of lights and characters. Kathryn & Sydney stood on our arm rests and poked their heads out of the sun roof. They had the best view! Though they did get pretty chilly.
Halfway through you can stop at Santa's workshop and see Santa and get a snack. The girls opted for a glimpse of Santa and a sucker.

Can you see Reagan in the rear view mirror? She was sitting on my lap watching the lights go by.
